Notoriously Morbid The Upside Down Black Friday 2016 Swatches

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!  I'm so excited to share swatches of Notoriously Morbid's upcoming Black Friday collection!  It's inspired by the Netflix series, Stranger Things, and features one loose eyeshadow, four semi loose eyeshadows, and one Mystic Matte liquid lipstick.  The current TAT is 10 - 14 business days and the collection releases on 11/25/16 at 12AM EST.  NM's Black Friday collections generally sell out extremely quickly (last year's set was sold out in five minutes), so I really recommend preparing for midnight if you're interested in the set.

The sets are also sold in two rounds, the first round is sold with a year-long coupon and the second round is sold without the coupon.  There are also other products being sold tonight including three holiday Mystic Matte liquid lipsticks, some pressed eyeshadows and highlighters, a holiday lip gloss, and Night Kiss balms!

You'll notice in the product shots that the eyeshadows come clumped up in little balls.  The reason for that is because of the semi loose formula incorporating more binder in the eyeshadow than usual.  The addition of extra binder ensures the sparkles stay on the lids better and delivers more overall pigment without needed a sticky base.  I did my swatches as I normally do, half over a sticky base and half over a regular primer; you'll see the semi loose formula doesn't differ over either side, meaning you wouldn't need a sticky base for maximum pigmentation.

Disclaimer: I am a promoter for Notoriously Morbid and this set was sent to me as a press sample.  All opinions are honest and my own.

WWBD?
WWBD?:  matte tan.  I love this shade and am sad that it's exclusive because it's an amazing base shade with fantastic quality and blendability.  I'm hoping Carrie decides to bring it back as a permanent color!

Right Here
Right Here:  light peach with strong green duochrome

Coffee and Contemplation
Coffee and Contemplation:  metallic red copper with gold sparkles

Friends Don't Lie
Friends Don't Lie:  beautiful berry with blue duochrome.  This reminds me of an eyeshadow version of Mystic Matte Sorceress.

Should I Stay?
Should I Stay?:  blue charcoal with slight purple duochrome.  I tried to capture the purple/pink duochrome by taking multiple shots.  The color shift is definitely more apparent in person.

Bare lips
El
El on face
El:  rust with blue duochrome.  It's a bit more drying than other Mystic Mattes, but it's not by any means uncomfortable.  It reminds me of when I forget to put on lip balm throughout the day.

Overall, I'm really loving this entire collection.  I'm probably the last person to ever like matte eyeshadows, but I've really been enjoying the matte browns that NM has released.  Don't even get me started on the beautiful shades and semi loose formula.  I'm a huge fan of semi loose formulas because I think they go on beautifully on the lids.  Stranger Things was extremely enjoyable to me as well, I binged through it in two days and loved every aspect of it.  It reminded me of shows like X Files and Twin Peaks and also featured a delightful 80s soundtrack.  I may not have been born in the 80s, but I sure do love their music!

Season 2 of Stranger Things is due to release sometime next year, but in the meantime, you can bet I'll be playing with this collection ;)
